On Top of the World Cover using Chroma-Key
Instead of just a still background, a cycling panorama of Mount Tamalpais, CA is used as the backdrop against the music video. The trick here is to make the panorama wrap seamlessly even though it actually has a fixed width. This is done by duplicating a part of it on the opposite side and repeating the animation at the right moment. In addition to the artificial snow introduced by Adobe After Effects, the panorama is subjected to a neon glow effect which is accentuated over time. The final landscape appears surreal in nature, though the transition is subtle enough to make the viewer wonder why it wasn't noticed earlier.
