This is a 24 hour time-lapse video of the great blizzard of 2010 collapsed into a single minute. It’s important to pay attention to the small details: the freezing street, the tree limbs sagging, the sump pump discharging, and of course, the power outage in the middle of the night. This video was created from over 1600 high-resolution stills shot with a Nikon D300 and a wide angle lens mounted on a tripod set with auto-focus and preview off. The battery, memory, and shutter speed had to be changed multiple times throughout the storm to keep the rig going and handle the lighting changes. In the end, the Quicktime video was resized considerably as the images were each 12 megapixels!
